Establishing Water Service for Temporary Accounts

Temporary Accounts
The Palmdale Water District recognizes two types of temporary service accounts. These temporary accounts can only be applied for in person at the main office.

Temporary Cleaning & Maintenance Account - often used by property management and or realtors to clean and prepare a residence for move-in by a tenant.
Temporary Construction Account - issued when construction water is being used by development for underground utility construction, dust control, finish grade earthwork and limited rough grading projects.

Cleaning & Maintenance Account

Temporary service will be provided to an existing water service for maximum of five (5) working days to facilitate cleaning and showing of property for sale or rent.

This service is not to be used for maintenance requiring high volumes of water. Allowed usage of water will be five (5) units of water or less for $85.00. Payment of $85.00 needs to be made prior to service activation. Anything over will be charged at current District rates and billed directly to the user.

5 units of water can escape quickly when the customer discovers that a faucet or sprinkler was inadvertently left on prior to District account activation.

Both you and your customer can be spared additional expense caused by water damage.

Construction Account

Request for construction water shall be made on an approved application form available in the District's main office. Please contact our Engineering Department prior to making application to discuss project requirments.An applicant may be required to submit approved grading plans and any documentation deemed necessary in addition to all deposit amounts.

Cost associated include a deposit of $750 (refundable) for meter, a $250 meter setting fee and estimated deposit on water.
